How do I contact the owner?
Click on the Contact Owner link or Contact Owner tab in the property listing. From here, you can either e-mail or phone the home owner.
How do I make a booking?
• Search properties and contact owners with your reservation request

How do I pay for my vacation rental?
All deposits and payments are made directly with the homeowner.
• Typically, a booking deposit is required to confirm your reservation.
• Balance and damage deposit are generally due before your arrival.
• Methods of payment vary from home owner to home owner. (see each home owner’s Availability & Rates section)
How are cancellation and refunds handled?
The cancellation policy associated with your rental agreement or lease should clearly communicate penalties associated with cancelling your contract. Note that cancellations due to weather conditions are not usually permitted unless specified in the rental agreement.
How can I gather information about my travel arrangements?
The property owner should be able to advise you on your travel arrangements, including the most convenient airports, car rentals, and alternative transportation options. Special parking requirements and parking passes should be detailed in the rental agreement and included in pre-arrival instructions.
What type of pre-arrival instructions should I expect?
In addition to directions to the property, the home owner should provide detailed information on how to get the key or the name of the person who will greet you at the rental, as well as the name and telephone number of someone at the location who you can contact if anything goes wrong.
What happens when I arrive at the property?
You will either be met by the property representative or be given instruction on how to obtain the keys.
What if there is a problem during my vacation?
It is in your best interest and the owner’s interest to fix any problems immediately. Contact information for the owner or their local representative should be included in pre-arrival instructions and rental agreement (should the home owner have provided one), and posted in the rental property itself. The person you have been directed to contact will be your best resource to quickly resolve any issues.
What are common check-out policies?
Check out policies should be included in the rental agreement. Since cleaning standards vary, it is important to know how much the owners expect you to clean up prior to departure. At minimum, the rental should be left tidy.
How do I know the rentals are legitimate?
Rentmyplace knows of no other vacation rental companies who go to the lengths that we do to ensure legitimacy. No Property listing will go live on our site without our approval. We at RentMyPlace.com verify every address and property owner to ensure that the home does in fact exist and that the homeowner is the legitimate owner. We strongly recommend that you personally call the owner prior to arrival. Speaking directly to the home owner can make you feel more comfortable with your rental.
What should I do if I don’t get a response to my booking inquiry?
We recommend that our property owners respond to all inquiries, but it is sometimes very difficult during peak times as owners can get extremely busy. You can also check to make sure you have tried every mode of contact possible (i.e. phone, e-mail, fax, etc). If you have tried several times and have been unable to get through, then let us know via our contact us page and we will try to contact them for you. We suggest you send inquires to several properties at a time when looking for a rental, too speed up your search.
Can I bring my well-behaved dog or cat?
This is entirely up to the property owner. It should say in their listing whether they are “pet-friendly” or not. If it doesn’t, you can certainly send them an inquiry through the “Contact Owner” tab located on their Property Details page.
How do I change my password?
To change your password, follow these steps:
• Log in to your account using your username and password
• From your Homepage, click on the “Profile and Settings” link in the left-side navigation
• Click on the blue “Change Password” link beside the box that contains your current password
• Type in your current password, your new desired password, and then retype your new password for confirmation purposes
• After you’ve completed the last step, click the pink Save changes button, and your new password will be immediately activated!
I forgot my password, how do I retrieve it?
• Just click on the “Log In” button at the top of the homepage and then click the blue link that reads “Forgotten password”
• From here, enter your email address in the space provided
• Click the blue button that reads “Send new password”
• You will receive an email from Rentmyplace that tells you your new randomly assigned password
• Enter your username and newly assigned password into the “Sign in” section
• After you have successfully logged in, just follow the steps in the previous question, listed above to change your password to whatever you like.
Do I need an account to use your site?
No, you can search properties and contact owners without having an account.
If you do create an account, you have access to extra features like being able to save properties to your favorites, email property listings to your friends and have an inbox to review sent inquires and responses from homeowners all in one place.
Can I contact more than one owner with the same reservation request?
Yes, we have a function that allows you to save time by sending the same enquiry to lots of owners. Just Save to favourites and then go to my favourites and send the same enquiry to ALL your favourites list.
How can I compare more than one property?
You can compare many properties by using our Comparison Board. This unique feature will allow you to compare several properties at once, using different criteria such as bedrooms, price, size and many amenities. You can also e-mail this comparison to your friends!
Does it cost anything to use your site to find a property rental?
Using Rentmyplace to search for rental properties is completely free of charge! You can set up an account, search our listings, use our comparison boards, etc.
How do I search for a vacation rental?
There are many ways to search for a vacation rental. You can use our interactive map on our homepage, or our search box by typing in your location destination.
How do I report offensive content on your website?
If you come across any content that is personally attacking or offensive please contact us and report it.
How can I write a review of a property?
Find the property listing of where you stayed at, and go to the Reviews tab -click on the “write a review” button. Please be as detailed and honest as possible as it will help owners improve their service. Once we have verified that you have stayed at the property, the review will be posted on the site. This can take up to 10 days.
Can I pay for my vacation rental reservation online?
Yes, many owners do accept online payments such as PayPal, but each individual home owner is different, so please refer to their personal payment policies.
I found the perfect vacation rental property, how can I share this with my friends/family?
Save the property to your favorites, then go to your "My favorites" section from inside your homepage, and click on the “Send to friend” button.

Why am I not receiving email sent to me from Rentmyplace?
We do our best to make sure emails sent from Rentmyplace, or sent via the Rentmyplace website, are delivered successfully. However, since every Internet Service Provider (ISP) has its own SPAM and junk mail filtering settings, we cannot guarantee email delivery. To make sure critical communications get through, we recommend that you:
• Add Rentmyplace.com to your “safe list” (or ask your ISP to do this for you).
• If your ISP does not support a “safe list,” then add admin@rentmyplace.com to your address book.
• Follow-up any critical communications with a phone call.
Why does Rentmyplace have customer reviews?
Rentmyplace has customer reviews because trust is the single biggest issue that comes up when we talk to both renters and owners. Property owners or managers want to rent to people that they feel they can trust to take care of their properties.

You can share these images on our Twitter/Facebook account. You can also send these pictures directly to the homeowner so that they can choose to use them to improve their property listing.
Where can I find details on check-in times, pets, terms and conditions, etc.?
You can find out most of this information on the actual property listing itself (see the property listing individual FAQs tab or the policy section on the Availability & Rates tab). Also, within the rental agreement or lease, that the owner provides, you can expect to find terms related to check-in and checkout times, maximum occupancy, pet policies, cancellation conditions, and maintenance of the rental.
How do I change my contact information?
To change your contact information (i.e. E-mail address), follow these steps: • Log in to your account using your username and password
• From your Homepage, click on the “Profile and Settings” link in the left-side navigation
• Here you will find some basic information that you have listed about yourself (First name, Last name, E-mail address, Password)
• Make the necessary changes to your personal information, then click on the pink “Save changes” button at the bottom of the page.
